It was one of those ‘had to be’ moments that came from bouncing ideas with the amazing Santa Cruz, Ca musician Bobby Hanson. Being both a monster guitarist and bassist, Bobby told me he wanted a scaled up version of his Falcon guitar as a bass. The Condor idea was sparked! Bigger sibling to the Falcon, the Condor shares the overall ‘T’ look and body contours. A Lollar ‘P’ and ‘J’  pickup help provide the fat tone. And to shape that tone I use a ‘roasted/torrefied’ swamp ash body which is incomparably light, stable, and resonant delivering everything you like about traditional swamp ash and more. ‘The sense of air, space,  and transparency is strong.’  I combine that with figured ‘roasted’ maple for a beautiful and stable neck to achieve a naturally golden carmel color scheme. Here’s what Bobby said about his Condor after its first live gig- ‘Epic! Every note was pronounced, punchy, and dripping with buttery goodness.’
